BUILDER HOMESITE, INC.

As the Facilities Manager at Builder Homesite, Inc. (a web services & marketing tech co.), I am responsible for maintaining every aspect of the company headquarters in Austin, TX, along with remote offices, vacation homes, and other company assets. I also assist with various special projects, including; trade show logistics, office floor planning, and a planned large scale interior renovation. It's a very cool job, with enough challenges to keep me interested.

creative interest project

SOLAR TREE INITIATIVES

The Solar Tree Initiatives is a creative interest project I've been working on since 2018. I decided to formalize my ideas into a series of YouTube videos, a website and social media accounts in early 2019. In short, the premiss is that multi-function, realistic looking solar palm trees are a potentially valid and industry changing form factor for photovoltaic energy production devices.

2010-2018

Co-founder & CEO

XTECH STAFFING

A former staffing and temporary labor services company launched in 2010. XTech specialized in providing technical engineers and enjoyed an 8+ year run, achieving many notable accomplishments, including expanding into a global entity with sister companies in Ireland and Israel. Ultimately shutdown in early 2018 due to the combination of new competitive forces from online staffing resource websites and recessionary market pressures.

2007-2009

Independent Contract Engineer

work-icon.png

SEMICONDUCTOR FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER

For a period of ~ 2.5 years, I worked as an independent field service engineer within the semiconductor industry. During this period, I traveled globally, installing, de-installing & supporting the Tokyo Electron line of photolithography (coater/developer) semiconductor chip manufacturing machines.

2005-2006

Co-founder & CEO

PILOT INVESTORS GROUP

A short-lived air taxi startup venture that never really got off the ground. The premise was to operate a fleet of Very Light Jet (VLJ) air taxis, in a regional (direct, short hop) capacity. The VLJ based air taxi industry was an interesting phenomenon you don't often see in modern day industry. There was heavy support from NASA, the FAA, the DOT and most every aircraft manufacturer. This new aviation sector was in development for ~ 10 years and then imploded due to a combination of the tripling of jet fuel prices (within a year's time), the lack of affordable VLJs, and ultimately, the inability to achieve low enough per-seat ticket fares.

2004-2005

Auxiliary Operator Trainee

ENTERGY (Arkansas Nuclear One)

I decided to leave my 100% travel job with Tokyo Electron after 3 years, to try civilian nuclear power at a plant located in my childhood hometown. One of the primary reasons I took this job, was to be close to my family in Russellville, AR. I very much enjoyed the semiconductor industry field service engineer work, but was completely burned out after 3+ years of 100% travel. After less than a year at Entergy, it was apparent to me that civilian nuclear power was not a fitting career choice. I left my position at Entergy and utilized my savings to launch an aviation (air taxi) startup company.

2001-2004

Lead Installation Engineer

Startup Project Manager

TOKYO ELECTRON AMERICA (TEL)

After successfully completing my 6 year enlistment in the United States Navy as a nuclear reactor operator, I entered the semiconductor industry as a 100% travelling field service engineer. My duties included installing & qualifying TEL's line of photolithography coater/developer toolsets. In this role, I was responsible for running an entire toolset installation project (usually 3-4 mo.) at a customer's site, such as, but not limited to; Intel, Samsung, AMD, IBM, etc.

1995-2001

Nuclear Reactor Operator

Electronics Technician

UNITED STATES NAVY

I decided to leave college early, without having completed my degree, so that I could join the US Navy and immediately enter the workforce. I wasn't comfortable with the amount of debt I was beginning to take on after ~ 2 years in college. My plans were to serve my country and earn college tuition assistance via the GI Bill (which I did) and then to later return to college. Life and my career happened and I never ended up going back to school to complete my degree. I did however continue my education in several other forms, including, but not limited to; my naval nuclear power training, continuing to take elective college courses, earning my private pilot certificate, and continuously self-teaching skills via occupational courses and reading of technical literature online.
